With import from audio, the Lingq AI inserts non-existing line

I was interested in a Korean language Youtube video, for which there are no subtitles, so, I could not use the Lingq add-on. I downloaded the audio, and went ahead to import the audio using the menu item "import/from Audio" on the front page. Furthermore, I recorded the process, until the moment it was clear that the import had made up stuff.
The Final result (see screen print) is that the last line on page 1 (call it line
n
) is in the audio. Preceding line n
should be line n-2
according to the audio. The line n-1
is fully made up and is never read in the audio. See the screen print for the last line (n
), the made up line (n-1
) and the line preceding the last line in the audio (line n-2
).If you look closely, you see that line
n-1
is largely a copy of line n, except for the 4 last syllables (고 있어요
). This line does not exist at this stage in the audio. I repeated the process several times, always with the same result. Could you please confirm my suspicion and let me know when it will be planned to be fixed?
I will send the screen recording to the support email with a reference to the title of this feature request.

We use third party AI engines to process transcriptions. Sometimes they may hallucinate and do something like this. There isn’t much we can do about this. You should just edit your lesson and delete that extra text.

Mark Kaufmann Do you accept subpar quality from your software providers?
AI does not "hallucinate". It is a program and (like any program) it has errors.
If you don't mention the errors to your providers, they won't get fixed. Korean most likely is undertrained and almost certainly under-tested. However, they will not do anything if they don't get error reports.
If you reconsider, I could send you the mp3 file, so you can also produce the error and show your third party, that they have work to do on their program.
Of course, it is up to you. As for me, I prefer an AI that can reliably transcribe without unnecessary failures. Up to now, I trusted the Lingq transcribe to be reliable.

A.J.In fact, AI does hallucinate but feel free to submit your video along with a link to the lesson, to support and we can look into whether we can reproduce the issue.

Mark Kaufmann Thanks Mark, but I already submitted the video to support. I had to trim 2 pieces out of it, because the whole video was too large (15M). I cannot send the link to the lesson, as I am deleting the offending line, but I can send you the mp3 I used to import the audio, so you can try it out for yourself. I will send the mp3 later this evening (Finland, so it is evening here).
