Subject: Feature Request – Interactive Subtitles for Video Content

Hi LingQ Team,

Right now, tools like Migaku and Language Reactor let learners watch videos with clickable, real-time subtitles — but none of them integrate word tracking and stats as well as LingQ does.

The gap: We can’t currently watch videos in LingQ with clickable subtitles tied to our vocabulary database. This means we have to import lessons into LingQ, which can be slow and time-consuming. Sometimes we just want to quickly load up a TV show on our favorite streaming platform and enjoy it — but with the added bonus of tracking words, creating flashcards, and so on.

The solution: Adopt features that tools like Language Reactor and Migaku offer for watching video content — support for streaming or local playback (YouTube, Netflix, local files) with synced subtitles, where each subtitle word is clickable just like lesson text, with instant lookups, status updates, and optional dual subtitles.

This would keep all learning in one place, put LingQ ahead of the competition, and make video learning as seamless as reading.
