Keep current word rectangle even if focus is lost

In the current system in sentence mode, when the focus is lost, the current word rectangle is no longer visible and remains invisible until I press an arrow to go forward or backward. I would really like to have visible which word in the sentence is current, even when filling out a note or looking at the dictionary. It makes navigating a lot easier.
In page mode, this already works.

I'm not sure what you mean. If you click away from the text, the word gets unselected. This happens in both page and lesson view. As long as you are clicking on the text or in the widget the selection remains. There is not much else we can do here.

Mark Kaufmann Let's make it more clear then.
In page mode. If I do "d" for dictionary, a new window opens with the dictionary. The rectangle around the word stays.
If the field is new, and I press "hh", I get to the definition of the field and the rectangle stays. I can at all times see, on which word in the text, I was.
In sentence mode. In both cases described above, the rectangle disappears, and the current word is no longer visible. That it is the current word becomes clear when I use the arrow key forward or backward after returning, the cursor goes to the next or previous colored word from the correct position.
There is no clicking away. And it does work better in page mode than in sentence mode.
Do you know what I mean now?

A.J.The selection indicator doesn't disappear for me when doing either of those things in sentence mode. I do see that "hh" is required to locate the cursor in the meaning field though which is a bug. Should be just "h". What browser are you using?

Mark Kaufmann The selection indicator appears when I press arrow to the right. If nothing is selected yet, then the first colored word is selected. Otherwise, the next colored word is selected. Of course, arrow to the left, goes to the word on the left. So, that is how I navigate words and the selector follows my arrow instructions. This works both in page mode and in sentence mode. For this I do not use the mouse at all.
In page mode, the selector remains, with both "d" (which opens a new window) or with "hh" (which navigates the cursor to the next field). The selection indicator remains visible.
In sentence mode, the selection indicator disappears with either of those actions.
Both Chrome and Firefox work this way. I normally work from Firefox.

A.J. I can't recreate this. I will report it to the team but it seems fine in all browsers for me. I see that phrases aren't selected. Is that the issue? Words seem to remain selected just fine. What OS are you on? What browser versions? All seems fine to me.

Mark Kaufmann Hi Mark, I really don't know what to say. If you cannot recreate this, then there is nothing for you to repair. I can send you a video of me doing stuff, but it takes some effort, so only if you require it.
As for the environment. I work from POP_os, which is an Ubuntu derived distribution. My browsers are Firefox and chrome. Mostly, I use Firefox. Both have the same issue though. It is possible, that POP_os, which is Ubuntu plus user interface changes, could be the cause. If one of your developers has a different version of Linux, it would be a good idea, to test the phenomena there.
