Kids mode for learning to read
Mark Kaufmann
I'm not sure what you mean here. If your child has an account, known words are tracked. Or, do you mean you want parental control over which content your child is able to see?

Mark Kaufmann I have a 6 month old and I love reading to him in all different languages. So I’m imagining the future where we can create an account for him and just like how we learn language from ground zero he will be able to use LingQ to learn.
Duolingo just created a kids app, called Duo ABC. It’s cute but once he phases out of that falls flat like duolingo and itself where it’s just a game and doesn’t teach anything.
I think it could be a big edge if there could also be an early start reader mode for kids to also learn to read and be encouraged to read in multiple languages.
Patents will be able to see how many words their kids can read.

Melody Peters An interesting idea. We've always felt that LingQ would be great for literacy. We'll start thinking about a LingQ ABC app!

Mark Kaufmann thanks! Sorry for my previous typos. I love seeing how far LingQ has come and even the fact that you have this platform open for feedback makes it even more superior from anything else. I tell everyone about it!

Could this also be extended to each language and teaching new alphabets for any age? Duolingo has its own section for teaching various alphabets with a bunch of exercises. I am using the Arabic one so I can work on Persian, but Persian itself isn’t an offered language, and the languages are not perfectly identical. The Russian and Korean aren’t bad, but the way Duolingo has it, it takes months to complete, and people may be able to make the sounds of the alphabet but then get discouraged from actually starting the language learning process. I feel like this could be a significant advantage with the LingQ platform. Make it easier to get into reading after having the foundation of each language’s alphabet.

Melody Peters We really don't think too much time should be spent on the alphabet :p . Get the basics and then get on to real content. The reality is that it will just take time to get used to it and you might as well do so while into your language content. Anyway, we'll keep all of this in mind going forward.

Mark Kaufmann I love it. Thanks!
